Family owned and operated, we're a small and dedicated team at Glenmore Wine.
Meet the makers and growers; from viticulture to winemaking at our boutique winery on Caves Road in Yallingup, Western Australia.
Ian Bell is the owner of Glenmore vineyard, winery and farm, a 5th generation farmer who also has a strong viticulture and winemaking background.
Ian worked for Keith and Clare Mugford of Mosswood Wines from 1985-2006. Keith and Clare encouraged Ian to study viticulture and so he enrolled at Roseworthy College (South Australia) in 1987.
After graduation in 1989 he rejoined Mosswood full-time. In 1991 Mosswood sent Ian to undertake vintage at Domain de la Pousse D'or in Burgundy. Here he had hands on experience in the Burgundian wine style and winemaking techniques.
During the next few years Ian progressed from Vineyard Manager to Assistant Winemaker and was Senior Winemaker from 2001-2006.
Since leaving Mosswood in 2006, Ian has developed and achieved success with his wine label Glenmore.
Ian's meticulous attention to detail is evident in both the vineyard and winery as he is passionate about ensuring that his fruit and subsequent wine is of the highest quality, displaying the distinctive characteristics of the Glenmore site.
Winemaking follows traditional techniques while incorporating modern technology.
Ian also makes wine for a number of vineyards in the Margaret River wine region.
Marty had a circuitous beginning before falling prey to the lure of wine.
The PGA Golf Pro relocated to Busselton with his family in 1991. He was introduced to Keith and Clare Mugford of Mosswood Wines through golf lessons.
An opportunity came up to work at their winery in 1993. During his 2 year tenure, he worked alongside Ian Bell.
The next 5 years were spent as a Golf Pro in Busselton, before relocating to China to teach golf.
Marty returned to the South West in 2008, taking up the 2IC role at Glenmore Wines. He now oversees the winery, vineyards and farm with Ian.
If you need tips on improving your golf game, Marty is your man!
